Picking up your motorhome from our Sheridan Street location, you will be in for a fun filled day in the heart of Cairns City. There is so much to see and do for all in this coastal town. Visit the Cairns Aquarium for all things sea life or to the Cairns Zoo and Wildlife Dome for an interactive wildlife experience. Attempt one of the many difficult rope climbs or for those seeking an easier course, the Mid-Zoom will be right up your ally. Before departing, be sure to get a photo with one of the many animals that call the Cairns Zoo and Wildlife Dome home. Pop down to the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon for an afternoon dip before making your way across to the Cairns Night Markets and Food Court. Pick up some local handmade clothing and homewares whilst enjoying the locally made produce for dinner. The NRMA Cairns Holiday Park is a great place to call home for the evening on your first night.

Day two will see you travelling north towards Palm Cove. On your way, make a stop by and visit the team at Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Book in for their cableway experience or make a day of it and do both the cableway experience plus the Kuranda Scenic Railway. From here head to the Cairns Wake Park. Purchase a H2O pass and experience both the Wake and Aqua park. This is great fun for all ages, whether you are a beginner or advanced. After a day of fun, whether it be in the air, rail or water, continue back on the road on to your destination. Arriving in Palm Beach, take a trip down to Palm Cove Beach. Named one of the friendliest and cleanest beaches, you will be sure to enjoy your afternoon here. For the evening, book into the NRMA Palm Cove Holiday park.

Begin your morning by soaking in the sunshine before departing for the day. As you travel on the Captain Cook Highway, stop by The Gatz Balancing Rocks. Be sure to have your camera ready for this spectacular spot. Pulling off the highway again, you will come across Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure. Navigate your way around the park and view the vast array of wildlife including tropical birds, insects, reptiles and other native fauna. On your way to Port Douglas, stop off at Rex Lookout and take in some amazing views of the ocean. If you’re lucky, you may even get to watch a lot of locals hang-gliding while you’re here. Make sure to bring your camera and get lots of happy snaps. As you head into Port Douglas, make sure to stop by the Wildlife Habitat Zoo. Visitors in the morning have the option of having their morning breakfast with the birds, or you can also choose to have lunch with the Lorikeets. From the zoo you can drive to the Big 4 Port Douglas Glengarry Holiday Park to rest for the evening.

Day 4 will see you travelling to the Mossman Gorge centre where you can experience the wonders of the Daintree forest. The Mossman Gorge also offers some exceptional guided dreamtime walks that offer insights into the rich indigenous heritage. From here, make your way down the highway and visit the Golden Drop Winery. Try their selection of Mango wines and port and learn about the history of the winery while the kids can look at the mango trees. They offer gift packs to give to friends as well as an online ordering for any future purchases. From Golden Drop Winery, the Mareeba Wetlands is just a short detour, and will have something for the whole family. The Wetlands has a number of tours that offer the chance to view Australian beauty at its finest. The family can easily spend a whole day here so make sure to check the website for all tour times and activities. Spend the night at the Mareeba Country Caravan Park and get plenty of rest.

Stop over at Emerald Creek Falls and view the picturesque as they create a series of cascades over the smooth granite boulders. You will want to make sure that you have your camera ready here and be careful as the water is very cold. On your way to Millaa Millaa, stop by the Mt Uncle Distillery. They have been in business since 2001 and have a wide range of products to try. They also have a licensed restaurant that has items for everyone so make sure to get a quick bit in before departing. Head down to the Crystal Caves and get ready for one of the most extraordinary self-guided tours. The Crystal Caves has over 600 different types of crystals and fossils that you can view and touch all at your own pace. It is recommended to allow at 2 hours during your stay here so you can absorb everything and visit the gift shop. s you to Devonport via Launceston before you board The Spirit of Tasmania to Melbourne. With our relocation special, you are eligible for free travel for one traveller aboard the Spirit. Some sights to see along the way: Binalong Bay to experience the exquisite Bay of Fires, home to the Bay of Fires Winter Arts Festival Visit Scottsdale: one of Tasmania’s most agreeable towns. If mountain biking is your thing, pay a visit to the North East Rail Trail. Stop by Cataract Gorge in Launceston. This charming patch of wilderness in the city centre has a myriad of walking opportunities, an idyllic suspension bridge, onsite restaurant and the longest single span chairlift in the country. Drop by House of Anvers just outside of Devonport to get your fill of delicious chocolate treats. The milkshakes are a must Once in Devonport, head on over to the Spirit to begin the seabound leg of your journey towards Melbourne.

Travel to the Souita Falls near Millaa Millaa off the old Palmerstone Highway and view the beauty of the waterfall. The falls run all year but we recommend that the best time to view them is during the wet season. From here, head down to the Mamu tropical skywalk in the Wooroonoon National Park. The Mamu tropical skywalk takes you through a world heritage rainforest where you can experience some of the largest remaining continuous stands of complex vine forest on basalt soils. The skywalk lets you view the entire rainforest so you can take in the views, and even has an observation tower where you can get a close up view of plants, insects, and birds. Just outside of Innisfail you will find the picturesque Etty Bay. This bay is only 15km from Innisfail and 7km from Bruce Highway and is contains the wonderful 700m long east facing beach. The bay is filled with surfers and people looking for a quiet spot to relax in and will surely provide some fun times with the family. There is a small caravan park that you can stop here, or you can choose to go back into town and stay at the Stay River Drive Van Park.

Before leaving Innisfail head over to the Lit Sing Chinese Temple. The temple was damaged in cyclone of March 1918 but was rebuilt by the Chinese community a year later as a place of worship to deities of the Taoist, Confucian and Buddhist traditions. The temple now features a museum with items from Dora See Poy’s personal collection of photographs, clothes and original ship fittings. On the way back to Cairns is the quiet spot known as the boulders. This small day time area is located 6km from the highway and is a great way to relax with the family. There are trees all around that provide shade and shelter, a water hole for the whole family, and some walking trails that offer spectacular views. Make sure to get lots of photos before dropping off you motorhomes to the Cairns Motorhome Depot.
