Places To Camp In Cairns
With our new Cairns Depot set to open on May 1st 2017 we thought we would put together a list of places to stop to help with your drive through Beautiful North Queensland. There are loads of Beautiful camping spots on your way to Cairns as well as in the heart of Cairns and beyond toward the very top of NQ.
Bramston Beach Campground
About an hour south of Cairns on Evans rd, Bramston Beach Campground has powered and unpowered sites, toilet and shower facilities, laundry and barbeque facilities. Contact the caretaker on 07 40674121
Babinda
There are two RV friendly campgrounds at Babinda which is 45 mins south of cairns. No bookings are required, The Boulders campground has unpowered sites with basic amenities. Babinda Rotary Park has unpowered sites with a dump point and coin operated hot showers.
Cairns Holiday Park
Just 3km from Cairns on little street the cairns holiday park offers Caravan and camping sites, in-ground pool, laundry, camp kitchen and a tour desk for information on different activities around cairns. For bookings call 1800559800
Palm Cove Holiday park
Approximately 30 minutes north of Cairns its located right by the beach with only a short walk to there or to the jetty, boat ramp or the Palm cove restaurant and shopping strip. Cape Tribulation
Cape tribulation is a beautiful spot to camp right near the water, there are powered and unpowered sites with very well maintained amenities and a modern camp kitchen. There is also a bar there which makes great wood fired pizzas. The beach access is direct with sights of turtles and dolphins from the shore. To book call 07 40090077
Daintree Riverview
Daintree riverview is right on the Daintree river in Daintree Village with powered and unpowered sites. The caravan park boarders the jetty where you can go for croc tours there are toilets available, laundry facilities, a camp kitchen and picnic tables. For bookings call 0409627434
Rainforest Village
Rainforest village is behind the service station on cape tribulation road with big grassy sites, easy access for caravans with toilets and a camp kitchen as well as the onsite shop at the service station for any extra food items you may need. For bookings call 07 40989015
Lync Haven Rainforest Retreat
On the West side of cape tribulation road there is powered and unpowered sites set amongst the rain forest, available also is a restaurant where you can get a great cup of coffee and a burger.
Tropic Breeze Caravan Park
Tropic Breeze is a large caravan park that is situated in Port Douglas and only a short walk to 4 mile beach there is powered and unpowered sites available, they have a swimming pool, toilet and shower facilities, dump station, BBQ area, laundry facilities and camp kitchen. The caravan park is also just a short walk to the centre of town where you can stock up on any items you need.
Beachcomber Coconut Holiday Park
Mission Beach is approximately 2 hours south of cairns and 3 hours north of Townsville. They have powered and unpowered sites available, many of the areas are beach front views, there is a BYO restaurant open every day a pool and playground as well as a half tennis and basketball court. A large camp kitchen is also available as well as clean shower and toilets. The park boarders a conservation zone for the endangered southern cassowary and they regularly visit the park. Situated just past mission beach Kurrimine beach holiday park has powered and unpowered sites with the gorgeous view along the beach side and an abundance of great facilities. Rowes Bay
A great place to stop in North QLD before heading to cairns. This caravan park looks across the water to beautiful magnetic island. Rowes Bay Beachfront holiday park has powered and unpowered sites available , toilet and shower facilities, laundry facilities, camp kitchen, gas BBQ’s sheltered out door eating areas and a Dump point. There is also a pool and playground to keep the kids entertained and a half court tennis court. Strolling along the beach every morning down to pallaranda is a must.
Cooktown Caravan Park
Located at the foothills of Mt Cook within the main town boundaries of cooktown. The Cooktown caravan park will offer you some shady peaceful rainforest camping. There are large and smaller sites available for motorhomes and are available with or with-out power, there are toilets and showers available as well as laundry facilities, also a dump point and BBQ facilities.
