Customer Profile: Jimmy Lees (Cinematographer)

My name is Jimmy Lees and I’m a cinematographer. I’ve been working alongside professional surfer Julian Wilson for almost 5 years now. Travelling all year round to most of the destinations that a surfer on the ASP world tour stops at i.e. Western Australia, Brazil, South Africa, America, across Europe and a few more. My job is to cover and document his travels and work closely with his sponsorships. Social media is a large part of my job as one of my goals is to build his growing Instragram account with over 170 thousand following. I’m blessed to have such an amazing job and see the things/places that come with my unique workplace.

What did you enjoy most about the Cruisin’ experience?

How you get to see so much, every nook and cranny and how easy it is to do with a campervan. No time frames.

What was your favourite Tasmanian travel destination and why?

Bruny Island would have to be as we were in search of surf and that was the place we found it.

Favourite camping spot/caravan park?

Right here.

Favourite feature of the 6 Berth Slider?

Definitely the extra room the slide out brings. Once open there is so much room to cook, sleep and move around!

Tips for anyone travelling with surfboards in a motorhome?

If you’re travelling with a surfboard the best way we found
to do this was to store them up the back on top of the bed. We had 8
surfboards between us and found plenty of room to store them.
