5 Tips for Travellers Hiring a Camper from Brisbane

So, you've decided to pick up a camper from sub-tropical Brisbane ready to explore the diverse landscapes of sunny Queensland. Before you arrive at our office, here are 5 tips to ensure that your pick up runs as smoothly as possible so you can hit the road and begin your self-drive escape.

1. Organise somewhere to leave your car

If you're driving to the Cruisin' Motorhomes Brisbane office it is important to pre-plan where you will leave your car whilst you're on holiday. There is limited on-street parking at the Brisbane branch so visitors are encouraged to leave their car at a secure parking facility. Kingsford Smith Airport Parking is just a stone's throw from the office and offers secure parking for your vehicle. Contact them on (07) 3630 1110 before you leave to find out the details and book a place.

2. Make sure all drivers are at the office on the day

All hirers that plan on driving the motorhome during the rental must be present at the Brisbane office on the day of collection to show their licences and sign the rental agreement. Any drivers that are unable to collect from the office should contact Cruisin' at least 7 days prior to travel to make alternate arrangements.

3. Plan your first caravan park stay

All motorhomes must be charged at a 240 volt powered outlet at least every second night to ensure that the motorhome receives a full charge. If you are a local Queenslander and planning to take the motorhome home to set it up before your holiday, please be aware that the 15 amp electricity cord is not suitable for standard household power points. Book in your first caravan park to make sure that the vehicle gets a solid charge before you hit the road.

4. Ask any questions that arise

If you have any questions relating to your camper, the staff at the Brisbane office will be more than happy to answer these for you. That said, if a question does arise later on, your vehicle is equipped with an audio visual guide and user manual to guide you step-by-step through each feature in the motorhome for peace of mind. Cruisin' also has a toll-free hotline that you can call should you need support throughout your holiday on 1300 664 485.

5. Organise your payment method prior to travelling

If you are making final payment by credit or debit card, it is important to ensure all funds are ready for a smooth transaction at the office. Those paying by debit card should contact their bank in advance to make sure the funds are ready to go and there is no daily limit that will prevent the payment from processing. The card holder must also be present at the depot on the day of collection at the office to sign the rental agreement.
